Session Information

Newborn and Maternity Sessions.

Maternity sessions are only offered with a newborn or baby session, and they are about half an hour in length, and are available to either shoot on location or in the studio. The Maternity Gallery has samples of both.

When you book a maternity session we will post you out session information with what to wear and what to bring to your session.

Newborn sessions are done in the first ten days of your baby's life. This is when they are sweet and sleepy and will curl up for me. Sigh...

A session for a newborn can take up to four hours, with plenty of time for snuggles and feeding and settling. These sessions are best booked in the morning, and its great if you have no appointments straight afterwards so that you can just sit and relax and let bub get all sleepy.

Baby Sessions.

Of course you can book a session for your baby whenever you are ready, but there are some stages of babys life that are just beautiful to photograph.

The first ( if you miss the newborn stage ) is when bub can lay on their belly quite well and hold their head up for a period of time, and they are usually quite smiley too. The next stage is when bub is sitting up really well by themselves, without having to be propped up on anything. This is usually about six to eight months of age. If you can get that little window before they start crawling that can help too!

The next stage would be when the baby is able to stand up by holding onto a chair or something simliar, and hopefully before they start walking. This is usually around their first birthday, and also a great time to do a cake smash session.

One Year Old / Cake Smash Session

A cake smash is a lovely way to celebrate baby's first birthday. What a milestone! Bring along a cake, or some cupcakes, or even just some ballons and lets do a cute birthday session. Of course you can do some cute ones at the start of the session before we bring that cake out! Avoid ice cream cake as its just too cold for babies to put their hands in, and chocolate cake as it can be too dark on babys skin.

Kids Session

In the studio or outdoors, in a field or an alleyway, lets do a session that shows your kids personality. Let kids be kids. Puddle jumping optional but often encouraged by the photographer! Play with colour and texture, some funky props, tutus and cowboy boots...

Family Sessions

A family session can take place in the studio or on location. They take about an hour, but we allow some time at the start of the session to meet everyone and let your kids warm up. Once your session is booked I will post you out some info on what to wear. There is also some great posts on the blog too, that might help you choose your outfit.

Fashion and Boudoir

Boudoir sessions are intimate, a session designed for you to give some stunning images of yourself to a partner. They make wonderful valentines day gifts, and imagine the look on your fiancee's face if he opens an album of you on your wedding day? Boudoir is art for the bedroom, its about what makes you feel sexy.

Fashion sessions are for the girlie in all of us. Do you really need an excuse to get dressed up and have a photo session done? Get your hair and make up done with the girls for your hens day, then get them all in a fashion show. Want to wear your wedding dress again, without the pressure of your wedding day? Or a present for a teenager or to celebrate a formal? There is not limit to what fun we can have!
